I botched up my knee somehow in my sleep.

I can't put weight on my right knee, really. Treating it with painkillers and heat and ice soothes the outer part, but not the in-deep part which shoots lancing brass fork jab pain and nausea at me if I turn my knee wrong. I spent the night at the hospital, and know that I don't have an infection in my knee, nor do I have any bone problems. I'll get an MRI sometime to find out what happened, and have crutches now. I like them - it's a lot like having two canes but with less wiggle, and that's a good thing right now. It's nice to go to the washroom without feeling like I'm going to throw up from the pain.

I need to find good practical solutions to how to run a household when I can't do the running now. :P I'm wearing a scarf as a belt, so I can tuck things into it since I don't have pockets nor do I have free hands with the crutches. I might go with wearing a slipper on my right foot since I can't do up my right shoe - just don't quite reach that far without hurting my knee. Underwear is not fun with all this sitting. :P

Ah well. Where there's a will, there's a way, and I'm pretty willful. :)

Use your crutches! Own them! Yay, I am glad you have tools to help keep you from pain!

Can we knit cool cozies for them or something?

Sending love to your knee, and to you.

xoxo

Thank you so much for the knee love. :) :) I think it helped - I can stand on them now. With the intensity of pain on Tuesday, I didn't think I'd have a hope of being this mobile until next week at least. *Hugs* :)

In some ways, I'm completely recovered. I can walk around the house normally again, although I use my cane for outside. In other ways, though, it's not gotten there yet... my shoulders and elbows and wrists and shoulderblades actually were not happy with me using crutches, and they need a lot of time to recover. :( Reminds me of an acquaintance with Euhler-Danlos syndrome - she used crutches because of the knee/leg pain from multiple dislocations, but she stopped using crutches because her shoulders couldn't do it anymore (due to multiple dislocations). I switch my cane from one hand to the other, to spread the support between my right and left knee, and to spread the pain of unusual use between my arms. :P I'll have to see the chiropractor again soon, to see if I've done in my ribs again and if he'll help make it all better by adjusting them back into place.

Getting there. :) :)
