Thinking of Ruralrob

Not too long ago, one of his much-loved dogs died, surrounded by the people he loved. Today, that much-missed canine was joined by his brother, Baxter. It wasn't a surprise, and Ruralrob and his partner Meirion made the choice that this afternoon was the right time, because Baxter was fading - one can assume that Baxter had his people with him while he crossed over.
Bailey and Dougall will, I'm sure, love their humans as well as they can, in their time of grief, and I'll wish good warm sunny days with walkies and puppy licks and more happy memories to add to the collection - but I know the sun won't seem so bright for a while. The licks will echo the missing ones. The dance of loss has to be done, and its bitter melody will crop up again and again, and I hope that life is good and gentle for Ruralrob and Meirion for a while, so they can regain their strength and joy.
They are good people, and deserve the good stuff too.
